Global Connections to Employment Welcomes New Director of Community and Government Relations

Pensacola, Fla. (Aug. 29, 2016) – Global Connections to Employment (GCE), an affiliate of Lakeview Center, is pleased to welcome Lori Kain to the team as Director of Community and Government Relations. Kain comes to GCE most recently from ARC of Chemung, located in Elmira, NY, where she served as the Director of Vocational Services. She is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities achieve independence to become productive and contributing members of their communities.

At GCE Kain will serve as the main point of contact for community and government relations. She will share the wonderful success stories of persons with disabilities to show how meaningful employment can make a difference in people’s lives. In her most recent role with ARC, Kain supported 189-plus individuals with developmental disabilities to help them focus on vocational program, training and job placement opportunities.

Kain earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and completed the Marketing Strategies Program at Cornell University, Johnson School of Management. Kain also served as a: trustee for the Credit Union Association of New York; board member of the Arnot Hospital Foundation; and member of the Chamber Public Affairs committee to include being named: Chemung County Chamber Ambassador of the Year.

GCE is the vocational services arm of Lakeview Center and hires, trains and supervises a workforce of about 1,800 persons with disabilities including wounded military veterans at locations in 13 states and the District of Columbia. They contract to provide administrative, custodial and food services, as well as facilities management, health care environmental services and information technology. Locally they employ an estimated 450 people with disabilities in 25 locations within the four-county, Circuit 1 area, and in Florida, about 925 Floridians, 637 of whom are persons with a disability.



An affiliate of Baptist Health Care, Lakeview Center Inc. is a network of behavioral health, vocational and child protective services. These services address a broad spectrum of human needs, reflecting a longstanding commitment to helping people overcome life's challenges.
