Lakeview Therapist is Keynote Speaker Statewide
Pensacola, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2016) – Jenna Vaughn, therapist and advocate in the Rape Crisis Program at Lakeview Center, will be the keynote speaker at several training sessions hosted by The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV) and held across the state of Florida.
FCADV will host five half-day Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health Regional Training sessions for domestic violence advocates and community partners. The purpose of this education opportunity is to build support for the domestic violence advocates and community partners who help survivors not only through domestic violence, but also substance abuse and mental health issues. The training sessions also will share strategies for compassion fatigue and self-care.
Vaughn earned a masters of science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology from Troy University in Pensacola, FL. She holds a certification from the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She also has trained at the Traumatology Institute earning the title of Clinical Traumatologist. She works with the Victim Services Team at Lakeview Center in the Rape Crisis Program and spends countless hours advocating for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and other violent crimes. Vaughn also is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist who assists with areas of secondary traumatization, compassion fatigue, therapeutic relationships and the Silencing Response.
Training dates are from September 21 until 28 at locations in Destin, Jacksonville, Orlando, Naples and Miami, Florida. Learn more at fcadv.org/events.
