Lakeview Center Names New DAART Director
Pensacola, Fla. (March 28, 2017) – Licensed Mental Health Counselor Holiday Whisenant has been appointed as the Director of Lakeview Center’s DAART (Drug & Alcohol Adolescent Residential Treatment) program.
Holding a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology, Whisenant has been with Lakeview since 2008 when she was hired as a mental health and substance abuse counselor for a woman’s day treatment program. She also served clients in a drug and alcohol treatment program for adolescents and a day treatment program for adults with co-occurring substance abuse and mental disorders. Most recently, Whisenant worked as the clinical director of Lakeview’s Medication Assisted Treatment program serving adults struggling with addictions. Whisenant earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida in Orlando. Her master’s degree is from Troy University in Troy, Ala. Additionally, she is a Certified Master’s Level Addiction Professional (MCAP) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
DAART is a specialized residential treatment program for youths ages 13-17 with substance abuse issues and emotional or adjustment problems that are interfering with their level of functioning. The structured residential program focuses on personal growth and development using a wide range of treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, individual, group and family therapies, motivational enhancement, and 12-step.
