The 2nd annual event continues a community discussion about embracing a Trauma-Informed Care approach that can turn around the lives of at-risk youth. The event is free and open to the public.

Trauma-Informed Care Day of Focus

• Thursday, May 4
• 3 – 5:30 p.m. (keynote speaker, film viewing, panel discussion)
• Register at: eLakeviewCenter.org via the link “Resilience”

The Trauma-Informed Care movement shows great promise in healing youth who struggle with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). Practicing Trauma-Informed Care is allowing doctors, researchers, teachers, nurses, social workers and law enforcement officers to turn the tide against the cycle of trauma and abuse for youth.

Last year we showed you how it can be done by sharing a documentary film about one high school that experienced great success. The documentary was titled “Paper Tigers.” This year we bring you the sequel film titled “Resilience.” Following the film a panel discussion will be led by keynote speaker, Jim Sporleder - former principal of Lincoln Alternative High School featured in “Paper Tigers.” His school now serves as a model for communities across the country to follow. Join in the conversation and learn how we can improve young lives right here along the Gulf Coast. For more information contact Edna Williams, director of Lakeview Center Children’s Services, at 850.469.3807. A registration link also is available on eLakeviewCenter.org > “Resilience.”.
