Lakeview Center is Awarded Grant for HIV and Addictions

Pensacola, Fla. (October 30, 2017) – Lakeview Center Behavioral Health Services was awarded a competitive grant in the amount of $2.48 million. The funding will support HIV and addictions programs for a span of five years for continuation of the Personalized HIV & Addictions Services Expansion Program, better known as PHASE. Services include: counseling, outreach, assessment, treatment aftercare/case management and community support provided with a special emphasis on African American men, women, and families as well individuals addicted to opioids.

“This funding makes possible essential services to the local community that would otherwise not be available,” said Irvin Williams, Ph.D., director of specialty services at Lakeview Center. “It comes at a critical time to help address the disparate impact of addiction and other health conditions on minority populations.”

Grants are funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to address the issues of addiction and HIV in communities across the nation.
