Adoption Technology is Working
Pensacola, Fla. (September 10, 2019)– Family-Match technology launched in 2018 and FamiliesFirst Network of Lakeview Center (FFN) was the first agency in Florida to be trained on the online compatibility matching program for children waiting if foster care. Since then, FFN has grown to be the leading agency in the state of Florida in matching families to children based on a research-based relational compatibility score.
Current Family-Match data shows:
67 – Children matched with their Forever Families
22 – Of those matched, children placed with families and are working toward finalization
21 – Finalized adoptions
The Selfless Love Foundation has been instrumental in supporting FFN’s success. For instance, they send professional photographers to the FFN Pensacola campus twice a year to capture quality photos of children who are waiting to be adopted. The images and bios of the children are then placed on the website FamiliesFirstNetwork.org on the “Amazing Adoptable Youth” web page. The Foundation will be on campus again Saturday, September 14 to set up and take photos of current children waiting. The Foundation also will host a family mixer for approved adoptive families on September 13.
FamiliesFirst Network (FFN) is the lead agency in Circuit 1 for foster care and adoption services for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. More than 100 children in Northwest Florida and more than 800 children throughout the state are waiting to be adopted. FFN is trying to close that gap through partnerships such as Selfless Love Foundation and technology such as Family-Match.
