National Recovery Month 2021
Pensacola, Fla. (September 1, 2021) – Since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, programs have seen an increase in people who need support. National Recovery Month is a time to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders. Now more than ever, please be helpful to others.
- Stress and isolation can increase the risk of drug or alcohol relapse. Studies show that people may turn to an addictive substance as a way to escape during traumatic or difficult circumstances.
- Regular interactions with friends and family – in-person or using technology – can help prevent feelings of loneliness and hopelessness.
- Telehealth is a convenient way for people to receive help, especially those with transportation challenges or work schedules.
Take advantage of National Recovery Month as a time to pay better attention to those around you. Communities must help one another. Lakeview has a number of treatment programs across multiple levels of care to include: screening, detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient services, DUI services, case management, and medication assisted treatment.
