Therapist of the Year
Pensacola, Fla. (August 7, 2018) – Shannon Massingale, a behavioral health coordination manager at Lakeview Center, was recognized by the Florida Coalition for Children as the Florida Therapist of the Year.
Shannon has been at Lakeview Center since 2005 primarily working with children and their caregivers. She created a foster parent assistance program that offers therapy at no cost. The program helps foster parents work through any issue that could impact caring for their foster children. It also helps them work through grief and loss when a foster child is adopted, returned to the biological family or is moved out of their home. Shannon also created a trauma-focused parenting program used in residential substance abuse to help parents process how trauma impacts the role of caregiver.
Shannon has a Master of Science in Social Work from University of West Florida.
