Lakeview Center adds walk-in care in Walton County

Beginning November 4, Lakeview Center will offer new walk-in opportunities designed to help individuals access outpatient behavioral health services more quickly.

Walk-in appointments will be available every Wednesday at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 3686 U.S. Hwy. 331 South, building 300 in DeFuniak Springs and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Each appointment slot is reserved for one individual seeking to establish outpatient therapy services.

During the visit, individuals will meet with a licensed clinician to complete a preliminary screening and assessment process and begin the steps necessary to connect with ongoing outpatient therapy services.

The new walk-in option was created to reduce barriers to care and improve access to behavioral health services by providing a more immediate entry point into treatment.

“Access to care is a critical part of improving community mental health outcomes,” said Tia Guidry, Director of Lakeview Center of Walton County. “These walk-in opportunities give individuals another pathway to begin receiving services when they need them.”

Individuals interested in utilizing the walk-in service should arrive promptly, as appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
