Shawn Salamida

Shawn Salamida has served as president of Lakeview Center since 2019. His office is located at the Lakeview Center main campus in Pensacola, Florida.

Shawn leads a team of executive staff members who oversee crisis, residential, community-based, and outpatient behavioral health services, treating more than 25,000 people each year in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. He is responsible for a budget of more than $75 million dollars.

Shawn currently serves on the board of directors for the Florida Behavioral Health Association (FBHA). In 2021, he was appointed to serve on the Florida Commission on Metal Health and Substance Use Disorders.

Shawn has served in the field of human services throughout the state of Florida, receiving recognition for his innovative and collaborative approach. He was named to the 2023 Inweekly Power List, which recognizes Pensacola’s influential leaders working to improve the community. In 2019 Shawn was awarded a PACE (Pensacola Area Commitment to Excellence) Award by the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce. In 2014, he was awarded the Executive Leadership Award by the Secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families for “unwavering support, partnership and advocacy.” The Florida Coalition for Children presented Shawn with the Champion for Children Award in 2015 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2009.

Hailing from Rochester, New York, Shawn comes from a family of 10 brothers and sisters, seven of whom are adopted. Shawn and his wife Kathy have been married since 1992 and have six children, two of whom are adopted from foster care. When not working, Shawn enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.
