When Jasmin White first started at Lakeview Center in 2014, she thought it would be a short-term job. Instead, what started as “just a job” quickly grew into a calling. “I actually enjoyed the work and showing up every day,” Jasmin said. “When clients come back months later to check in and thank me, it’s the best part of my job.”
Today, Jasmin serves as a full-time behavioral technician at Road to Recovery, a 46-bed residential substance misuse treatment program located on our downtown Pensacola campus where our specialized team provides a comprehensive and intensive level of treatment.
Jasmin’s day is filled with monitoring clients and facilitating groups, as well as supporting intakes, discharges and transports. Jasmin takes pride in watching clients graduate, rebuild their lives and return later to share their progress.
Over the years, Jasmin has grown professionally as much as her clients have personally. She credits her development to the supportive environment at Road to Recovery, where teamwork and communication are essential. “The relationship between teammates is huge,” she explained. “We even check on each other outside of work. Communication is everything.”
Her biggest lessons have been in empathy and openness. She has learned not to judge others too quickly and to value the wisdom that peers and clients often bring. Feedback, which once felt daunting, has become one of her most important growth tools.
“I used to struggle with feedback, but now I know it’s there to help me grow,” Jasmin said. “I was raised by my mom, dad and grandma, who shared so much knowledge. Feedback feels the same—it helps me become better.”
Looking ahead, Jasmin has her sights set on becoming a counselor. Currently enrolled in school, she is passionate about listening to people’s stories and offering encouragement through life’s challenges.
“Everyone has a day when they need support,” she said. “I’m the type of person—if you’re hungry, I will feed you. We all need encouragement every now and then.”
Jasmin’s journey is one of dedication, compassion and growth. What began as a short-term position has become a career rooted in purpose—helping clients find hope and stability while also shaping her own professional path.
