Detox program

The detox program at our Addiction Receiving Facility (ARF) provides specialized, medically supported care for those experiencing withdrawal from substance misuse.

Withdrawal symptoms can make it difficult to stop using substances without professional support. Our trained providers and comprehensive range of services help individuals safely begin the recovery process.

The ARF is a 10-bed facility staffed by addiction specialists, nurses and behavioral health professionals. The average length of stay is three to seven days. After discharge, individuals are connected to ongoing treatment, either within Lakeview Center or through trusted community partners, based on your needs.

As Northwest Florida’s most comprehensive behavioral health provider, Lakeview Center offers a full continuum of care including crisis care, community-based support, outpatient treatment and residential programs to help individuals continue their recovery journey.

What to expect during detox

At Lakeview Center, our medical detox program in Pensacola, Florida, provides a safe, supervised environment to help individuals manage withdrawal from drugs or alcohol. Detox typically begins with a comprehensive assessment to create a personalized care plan, followed by 24/7 monitoring from trained addiction specialists, nurses and behavioral health professionals.

During detox, individuals may experience symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, sleep disturbances or cravings. Our clinical team works to monitor symptoms, ensure safety, and provide supportive care throughout the process. Most detox stays last 3 to 7 days, depending on individual needs.

Detox is the first step in recovery. Before discharge, each individual is connected to ongoing treatment options—such as community-based programs, outpatient care or residential treatment.—to support long-term success.
