Detox program
The detox program at our Addiction Receiving Facility (ARF) helps people across all demographics. Our program provides specialized detox care to ensure a smooth continuum of care including crisis support, community-based care, outpatient treatment and residential programs.
Withdrawal symptoms are the biggest hurdle, making it nearly impossible for anyone to walk away from substance misuse without help from a professional. Our trained providers and comprehensive behavioral health system can be powerful tools in a person’s recovery.
The ARF is a 10-bed facility staffed by addiction specialists, nurses and behavioral health staff. The average length of stay in similar facilities is three to seven days. Upon discharge, individuals are referred to a continuing care program, within Lakeview Center or another community resource, based on individual needs.

What to expect during detox
At Lakeview Center, our medical detox program in Pensacola, FL provides a safe, supervised environment to help individuals manage withdrawal from drugs or alcohol. Detox typically begins with a comprehensive assessment to create a personalized care plan, followed by 24/7 monitoring from trained addiction specialists, nurses and behavioral health professionals.
During detox, individuals may experience symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, sleep disturbances or cravings. Our clinical team works to monitor symptoms, ensure safety, and provide supportive care throughout the process. Most detox stays last 3 to 7 days, depending on individual needs.
Detox is the first step in recovery. Before discharge, each individual is connected to ongoing treatment options—such as community-based care, outpatient treatment or residential programs.—to support long-term success.
