Residential - Adult
Lakeview Center wants you to know that you and your loved ones are not alone if you struggle with serious or persistent mental health issues. Surveys have shown that one in four persons shares your struggle, and each year we help countless individuals who have the same challenges or are dually diagnosed with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
When a residential program is the answer to improvement, we can offer several options. Each residence is located on our main campus. Using individualized treatment plans in our programs we can help you progress to a less restrictive community setting and greater levels of responsibility and independence.

The 16-bed residential setting at the Lodges is therapeutic and supportive, and staff members are available 24 hours a day. It’s an unlocked place that provides structure for anyone experiencing symptoms of serious and persistent mental illness, but who don’t pose a threat to anyone (self or others). It’s a good option for someone who has been released from a hospital setting but continues to need some structure and support. The treatment focus is on helping our residents develop symptom management and life skills needed so they can live well in their communities.
Residential Substance Abuse Treatment
This is a 16-bed residential treatment facility for male and female clients 18 years of age or older who have a history of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Treatment is structured to serve those who need a safe and stable living environment so that they can develop sufficient recovery skills for the transition to a less restrictive level of care or so that they can reintegrate into the general community. Our treatment includes a schedule of services that we provide in a positive environment that reinforces recovery.
Hernandez House and Lakeview Place
Programs at Hernandez House and Lakeview Place help people with severe and persistent mental illnesses or who are dually diagnosed with a mental health issue and substance use disorder. Our residential counselor and certified behavioral health technician work with residents to help them learn and improve their independent living skills and life skills so that they may eventually function well in the community. Often, residents come to this transitional level once they achieve stability at the Lakeview Lodges and once they have committed to making community living their goal.
The Villas are the least restrictive residential program on the Lakeview Center campus. The 20-unit apartment building is a place where residents can maintain their own households yet have the support they need to remain stable. In this program we help adults who are experiencing persistent mental illness or have been dually diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. A certified behavioral health technician and a specialized case manager is assigned to residents of Lakeview Villas.
Supported Independent Living Program
This program is located in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties for persons with severe or persistent mental illness and diagnosed with co-occurring substance use disorders who meet the federal criteria for homelessness. This program provides long-term, community-based housing and supportive services to adults age 18 and older. Clients live in apartments throughout the community and receive services such as assistance with managing their money, medications and households. Certified behavior health technicians and a specialized case manager work with these clients.
