Lakeview Center’s acute care services team provides specialized evaluation and short-term treatment for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This may include:

Central Receiving Facility (CRF)

Lakeview Center’s Central Receiving Facility (CRF) serves adults in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties who are experiencing a mental health crisis and may need a Baker Act or Marchman Act screening.

At the CRF:

  • Individuals in crisis come to our main campus in Pensacola, Florida – some are transported by law enforcement, while others come on their own or with a loved one or family member
  • Specially trained behavioral health professionals conduct screenings and assessments
  • Patients receive immediate care and stabilization support

The CRF helps ensure a streamlined, coordinated response to mental health crises, reducing delays and connecting individuals to the care they need quickly.

Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

Lakeview Center’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides short-term, inpatient psychiatric care for individuals who need additional support beyond initial crisis evaluation.

The CSU offers:

  • 24/7 monitoring in a safe, secure environment
  • Psychiatric care, including medication management
  • Therapeutic support from behavioral health professionals
  • Stabilization for individuals experiencing acute symptoms

This level of care is designed to help individuals regain stability before transitioning to the next phase of treatment, such as residential care, community-based programs or outpatient services.

The 30-bed CSU also expands access to care for individuals who may not have insurance, ensuring that more people in the community can receive the help they need during a crisis.
